System standards broadened to include procurement and distribution logistics
The European groupage network, System Alliance Europe, now offers IT-supported pick-up orders as well as customized logistics models. With these new features, System Alliance Europe partners are able to offer their customers more flexibility in the network.
Pick-up Orders Europe-wide
With the new, IT-supported solution for procurement logistics, the nearest network partner accepts pick-up orders for consignments from all 23 countries covered by the partners. "CargoCollect", the new web application, offers System Alliance Europe partners a convenient solution to transmit and manage pick-up orders electronically, even if their in-house systems do not offer the possibility.
With this step, all 166 branches of 47 network partners have technically closed ranks together. An additional plus for customers: the tracking and tracing system, "CargoTrack", offers maximum visibility from pick-up to delivery. Every status change either transmitted via EDI or entered in the web-based "CargoCollect" is available immediately in "CargoTrack", starting with the notification for pick-up of the consignment. Furthermore, all delivery documents are archived electronically and made available shortly after delivery. "A central contact point and integrated, standardized IT processes - European procurement logistics were never so simple," noted Uwe Meyer, Managing Director of System Alliance Europe, in summarizing the advantages.
Competence in tailor-made customer solutions
With more than 1,500 direct traffic lines and 150 gateway connections, the 47 network partners provide excellent opportunities for complete, tailor-made supply chain solutions throughout Europe. The innovations in the area of pick-up orders also favor the implementation of system-wide, customer-specific logistics models. Now, complex models for distribution and procurement logistics can also be processed within the network. With the utilization of logistics models, the strengths of centralized monitoring have a definite effect: optimized processes and information flows provide for total process visibility.
